Step into a traditional courtyard, joining a hutong family to delve into their lifestyle. Experience the hobby of the host, calligraphy or paper cutting and taste the yogurt loved by locals living in hutong.

Day 3 Beijing | The Great Wall and the Temple of Heaven
 
Breakfast & Lunch

Visit the Temple of Heaven, an ancient Chinese architectural masterpiece symbolizing the connection between Heaven and Earth. Local residents engage in recreational activities at Temple of Heaven Park, including singing, dancing, playing Chinese chess, and practicing tai chi.

Opt for the family-friendly Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Much less crowded than Badaling, it boasts numerous perfectly-recreated watchtowers that harmonize with the disappearing wall next door. Getting a thrilling and exhilarating experience while going down via the zipline.

Day 4 Beijing to Xi'an| The Summer Palace and Bullet Train

Explore the imperial gardens and palaces at the Summer Palace. Take a leisurely boat ride on Kunming Lake.

After lunch, we would take you to the train station for your bullet train to Xi'an, escorting you all the way to the boarding gate. The maximum speed could reach 350 km/h (217 mph).

 

 

Day 5 Xi'an | The Terracotta Army and City Wall Biking

Start your day by visiting the extraordinary Terracotta Army, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most significant archaeological discoveries in the world.

Your guide would explain how and why the warriors and horses were created. After this, your family would learn to make your own clay warriors with expert local artisans at a local cave dwelling.

Explore Xi'an's well-preserved city wall, which offers panoramic views of the city and is perfect for a leisurely bike ride.

Day 6 Xi'an to Chengdu | Buddhist Pagoda and The Tang Dynasty Culture

The Small Wild Goose Pagoda has a beautiful tower shape and is a heritage of Buddhist architecture from the Tang Dynasty. It is a landmark building that signifies the introduction of Buddhism into the Central Plains and its integration into Han Chinese culture. During the visit, you will have chance to ring the bell for blessings and good luck.

The Anrenfang Heritage Museum was built on the site of the Anrenfang District during the Tang Dynasty. It features exhibits and artifacts that provide insights into the traditions, customs, and historical events that have shaped the local community.

Day 7 Chengdu | Giant Pandas and Cooking Sichuan Food

Giant pandas and delicious food are the top reasons to visit Chengdu. We know that most children can't wait to see the pandas. So, the first stop on your trip to Chengdu will be Dujiangyan Panda Base.

At Dujiangyan Panda Base, a much-less-crowded facility known for its conservation efforts and provision of natural habitat for giant pandas, you would observe pandas closely and learn more about the conservation efforts.

Learn some Sichuan cuisine recipes from a local chef in the afternoon. Start by selecting ingredients from the market, then show off your culinary talent in the kitchen, and, finally, taste the fruits of your labor.

Day 8 Chengdu| Sanxingdui Museum and Be Like a Local in a Park

Explore the bronze masks and statues at Sanxingdui Museum to glimpse into the ancient Shu civilization that flourished in the region over 3,000 years ago.

Take a seat and sip a cup of tea at a local park. You would see some vibrant scenes that may only happen together in Chengdu: parents seeking partners for their unmarried children at a marriage market, locals enjoying traditional teahouse ear massages, and people playing mahjong everywhere in summer — even in the river.

Try the most typical cuisine in Chengdu — a Sichuan hot pot — for lunch. Then, take a picture with the big panda sculpture on Chunxi Road.

Day 9 Chengdu to Zhangjiajie | Tianmen Mountain with VIP Pass

Catch a morning flight to Zhangjiajie. Go to Tianmen Mountain directly Upon arrival.

Tianmen Mountain is known for its stunning natural scenery, steep cliffs, and the famous Heaven's Gate, a natural rock arch that attracts many tourists.

Ride the world's longest cable car up to the park. The VIP Cable Car Pass enables a smooth ascent, avoiding queues in peak times.

The Bailong sightseeing elevator stands as the world's tallest and fastest, though long lines can extend waiting times to 2 hours during peak hours. Opt for VIP access to skip the queues and optimize your time at the park.

Post a light mountain lunch, explore Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, which served as the inspiration for Avatar's Hallelujah Mountains.

Walk on the World's longest & highest glass bridge this afternoon. The bridge is known for its architectural design and the thrill of walking on a transparent pathway high above the canyon floor.

Explore the unique design of 72 Wonder Tower, and immerse yourself in Tujia culture through a traditional bonfire party. The light show after nightfall is truly awe-inspiring.

Fly to Shanghai in the evening. Your guide in Shanghai will escort you back to the hotel for a good rest.

Day 12 Shanghai | Panoramic Views Over the City and a Bustling Market Street

Shanghai is a collision of new and old. Visit the new part of Shanghai in the morning. Reach the 118th-floor observation deck of Shanghai Tower, the world's second-tallest building, for a panoramic view of the city.

Take the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel to the other side of the river and enjoy the colorful light displays, music, and visual effects during the journey.

In the afternoon, travel back to the old part of Shanghai and visit the famous Yu Garden built during the Ming Dynasty (1368–1644).

Day 13 Shanghai | A Free Day for Your Own Explorations

Based on former clients' experiences, we highly recommend allocating a free day in Shanghai for shopping or visiting Shanghai Disneyland. If you are interested in traditional Chinese culture and architecture, the water towns nearby would be a good choice.
